Summer in the Leelanau
There’s a little hideaway spot in Leelanau County where I go to work and write several times through the warmer weather and I’m heading up for most of July and August.
The trusty ol’ Winnebago still makes a fine living space…I’ve had it since ’97 and just couldn’t bring myself to part with it. Full bathroom, Queen bedroom, Kitchen, Washer/Dryer. And as usual, my life’s centered around the desk.
It’s a great getaway.
I call it “Mobile 1”. Once I’m plugged in (next to the wireless Internet antenna), the pantry’s stocked and the hot water’s hot, the rest happens a day at a time. The view is better than looking out my window in Naples – most days it’s nearly impossible to focus on working when there’s so much playtime available just outside the window…
